Who would have thought I would decide to start a clothing brand whilst in lockdown in 2020. I’m a hockey freak, lover of a good time and passionate about pangolins. I’m no fashionista so Blewberry Apparel started out as clothing for those peeps who want to feel comfortable. I have learnt a lot, sharpened by marketing skills and now know the difference between cotton, polycotton, viscose and rayon! Shout out to all the small businesses out there, local is soooooo lekker!
So how did the Blewberry Apparel actually start?? I guess the brand can be compared to baking a Blueberry Muffin. The recipe is pretty simple.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius
In a large bowl stir together a graduate, a travelling gappie (whose adventure was cut short by Covid-19) and a pinch of creativity. Add a glass of wine (or two), a few ideas and some fabric.
Don’t forget to mix in a bit of vintage vibe and a comfy feeling.
Gently mix and spoon the batter into cups. Bake for 20 minutes.
If the muffins turn out looking different to the muffin in the recipe book, you have made the perfect Blewberry Muffin. A touch of uniqueness, slightly sweet with a bit of quirky too.
Note: Do not double the recipe as it may lose that eccentric feel.
